The best soultion of the day.

Unable to close a document in Word 2007.
Cause: The problem occurs if the 'Prompt to save Normal template' check box is selected.

Symptoms: Cannot close word document.

Solution: Open the Microsoft Word document. Click the 'Microsoft office' button. Click the 'Word Options' button. In the left pane, click 'Advanced'. In the 'Save' section, clear the 'Prompt before saving Normal template' check box. Click 'OK'.

Details: In Microsoft Word 2007 you can create, edit and save a document to Normal.dot which is the global template. The Normal.dot is a master template from which all word documents are created. It defines the margins defaults as well as the layout of the text and font defaults. Sometimes, when you exit Word, you may be prompted to save the changes to the global template.
To resolve the problem:

1) Open the Microsoft Word document.
2) Click the 'Microsoft office' button.
3) Click the 'Word Options' button. (The 'Word Options' dialog box appears.)
