Windows Update fails to install updates (Error 0x8007000D: The data is invalid.)
Cause: Issue is caused by one or more non-signed file in the CatRoot folder.


Solution: SUMMARY

This solution describes about the error while installing Windows update
Error 0x8007000D: The data is invalid

Follow the steps below to resolve the issue:


Click Start > Run
Type 'SIGVERIF' (w/o quotes) and click OK
You will get a window with the files that are not signed. Go to the directory and
manually move the files listed to a different directory
Please try to install the updates again.
