A most effective and easiest way to fix Windows Vista Update error: 80244019 caused by or triggered by Trojan DNS changer or worm
I removed all cookies and temporary internet files from Internet Explorer and Firefox. Then I rebooted my computer in safe mode and run all the anti-virus and anti-spyware I had downloaded, and followed their instructions.
After removing the Trojan virus, I reset my DNS address and flushed it. You'll probably need "elevated" permissions...to do this you need to right click the "cmd.exe" file to "Run as Administrator" and then type:
>ipconfig /flushdns
Issue : Windows could not search for new update error code 80244019
Solution:
1. Download and install Malwarebytes Antispyware.
2. Delete all Temporary Files, Cookies and Temporary Internet Files.
3. Run simple scan in Safe Mode.
4. Open Command Prompt (cmd.exe) with Administrative rights and type >ipconfig /flushdns
5. Restart computer in Normal Mode.
6. Open services.msc and stop "winHTTP Web Proxy Auto Discovery Service".
7. Automatic Windows Update will work fine.
